Panacea (pan·a·ce·a) – solution or remedy for all difficulties or diseases.
Panacea Juicery is a cold-pressed, all-organic juice bar specializing in holistic juice, organic smoothies, smoothie bowls, vegan baked goods, healthy shots, and juice cleanses.
Panacea was started by Jessica Heath and a good friend in 2016. “We wanted to showcase the healing properties juicing can add to your life. We began studying and creating recipes with holistic intentions, wanting to bring something to the community that Paducah has never experienced,” said Jessica.
“It all starts with the idea of something new. Knowing we have juice for detoxing, inflammation, circulation, etc. We build the juice around the holistic purpose we want that juice to have; we study fruits and vegetables that will help fulfill our goal. We take into account what produce is in season, what produce will pair well together, and how it will make you feel after drinking it. We want it to taste delicious, too!”
Panacea’s juices are pressed fresh with no heat added to preserve the health benefits of the fruits and vegetables. All of the juice is pressed and bottled in house, nothing is shipped elsewhere for manufacturing or bottling.
I was able to sample some of the holistic creations that Panacea Juicery has concocted. The Energy Smoothie Bowl is a great way to get your day started. High in antioxidants, the base is made of blended blueberries, strawberries, cherries, blackberries, banana, cinnamon, and almond milk. The nutrient-packed bowl is then topped with granola, kiwi, bananas, blueberries, strawberries, and chia seeds.
I was lucky enough to visit on a morning when some fresh Carrot Walnut muffins had just come out of the oven. The pulp from the juiced carrots goes into these muffins. They’re organic, vegan, and gluten-free. Very moist with a nice caramelized crunch on top, highly recommended.
The “UPLIFT” juice is made from pineapple, orange, golden beet, ginger, and apple. This recipe is intended to ease anxiety and improve your emotional state.
The “REFRESH” juice is a mixture of pineapple, mint, and green apple juices. I never would have imagined mint pairing so well with these juices but it’s one of the best things I’ve ever tasted. Very hydrating and invigorating, this one could replace your afternoon energy drink or post-workout beverage.
There’s not much waste produced by Panacea Juicery. The compost from the juiced fruits and veggies goes to a local chicken farmer to be reused as food. I bet with their diet of all these organic fruits and veggies they’re the healthiest egg layers in town!
Panacea Juicery’s products can be found all over Paducah but stop by the main location inside Heath Health Foods to sample the full menu. “All of our products are available at our main location 3530 Lone Oak Road. Our Cold-Pressed Juice is available at Midtown Market, Barre Company, Golden Carrot Natural Foods, and Dry Ground Brewing Company.”
When asked about the future of the company, Jessica responded with this: “We will continue to grow our menu, adding custom smoothies and more holistic juices. We aim to have more distribution stores, reaching different areas of our community and outlying areas. Our mission is to bring extraordinary holistic and healthy additions to one’s everyday lifestyle.”
